Family in a portrait studio | Olympia, Tacoma baby photographer, Tacoma family photographer
How cute are these girls and this family?! We tried so hard to have an outdoor session, but the rain...the rain...but it all worked out super-fab in the studio :)

Ages & Stages | Olympia Baby & Child Photographer
Parents often ask what some of the more memorable ages and stages of baby portraits are. Here is a little rundown:
Newborn portraits ~
Newborns are photographed best during the first two weeks after birth.
3-4 month baby portraits ~
Your baby is developing a little personality, and while not sitting or standing yet, baby is usually able to lift head, lay on belly, and giggle and smile!
6-8 month baby portraits ~
Around six months, your baby will start to sit and this is a great stage to document. These "smiling sitters" are a joy to photograph. This stage is the quintessential baby portrait. As soon as baby starts to sit, schedule an appointment for a few weeks out to allow baby to become a strong and steady sitter. Your favorite outfits, adorable hats/bow, and fun toys all make great props.
12 month baby portraits ~
It's the one year milestone for baby! Baby is now able to pull-up with some one year olds crawling and walking. Fun items to have a the session are favorite toys, balloons, cupcake/cake, and favorite outfits.
18 month baby portraits ~
18 months is a big stage for baby. She's leaving the babyhood for toddler-hood! During this stage, baby will be expressing her independence and we will document cute and fun expressions. The 18 month old is less likely to "pose", so we will capture her in action.

On the shore with the C. family | Olympia family portraits
Here's another wonderful family that I've been working with the past 2! years. Their little girl just turned one, and we decided on outdoor portraits for the one year session. Amazingly, we got lucky with sunny and warm weather at the shore that morning. Enjoy!
